Antique wooden hand plane. Shows signs of age and use. Features a metal blade. Great for woodworking enthusiasts or collectors. This is a vintage Japanese kanna (鉋), a traditional woodworking hand plane used for fine, precision planing. Unlike Western planes, the kanna is designed to be pulled toward the user, allowing for greater control and an exceptionally smooth finish. The blade is signed by the maker with traditional Japanese kanji, indicating hand-forged craftsmanship. The central kanji appears to be 金 (kin, meaning “gold”), which is often found in artisan signatures. The blade is laminated steel, showing the distinctive forge-welded line and scalloped edge. Wood body in good vintage condition with natural wear and patina Blade is tight and intact, but not sharpened recently Pick up in Beeton
