Hello, I’m Ayan—I am a current Software Engineering student at the University of Calgary and experienced private STEM tutor. My coursework as an Engineer includes linear algebra, discrete math, coding and much more, all of which taught me problem-solving and critical thinking. As a self-employed tutor for over three years I’ve helped dozens of middle and high-school students excel in math, physics, chemistry, and general science by pairing strong subject expertise with a calm, effective teaching style. My students were able to achieve grades of above 90 within just a few months of working with me. As an Engineer and tutor, I blend technical expertise with an approachable, student-first teaching style. Each 60-minute lesson begins with a brief introduction to pinpoint your current understanding. I start with teaching the students all the basic concepts for problems so that the students have a strong base understanding and then I dive deeper into some more difficult concepts and questions. We then tackle guided practice problems together before you attempt similar questions independently, ensuring you gain both confidence and competence. I close every session with a concise recap and a custom action plan—targeted exercises, summary notes, and exam-style questions—to keep you progressing between lessons. Students ask me questions as many times they want and each time I explain the concepts to them in many different ways to aid their understanding. I charge $25 per hour. Feel free to contact me!
