B1 Battle Droid (Episode 1) life size at about 7' tall, made by myself from PETG plastic, steel and resin. Made nearly solid with internal steel rods for structural support, it is fully articulated (head, neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, all fingers, torso, hip) backpack is removable and empty to leave room for electronics. All paint chipping on the droid is real, it is painted with a 5 step process and then hand weathered after. Hip attachments are affixed magnetically and will rotate with the droid, the head and torso easily come off for easier transport. Real hardware is used for the entire build, steel hex screws and threaded inserts, as well as neodymium magnets, no screws into plastic. Base is solid resin and painted with automotive paint and sealer, it is extremely heavy/sturdy and on casters for easy moving.. earthquake proof. Solid steel rods are used for pistons and antennas and the whole thing feels very very heavy, solid and well made, roughly 1000 hours of work went into this project and over 500 dollars of paint just for the droid. I will also include a pair of non functioning Battle Droid binoculars with real lenses (the droid is fully capable of holding them, message for more pictures if interested). This would make an amazing display piece for a living room or theatre room, feels like it jumped right out of the screen!
