Cookbooks - 3 Favourites

A varied selection of 3 books that are staples in my kitchen. - Indian Instant Pot Cookbook by Urvashi Pitre ($8) Bought and Instant Pot and it's just gathering dust in the cupboard? This will be the best eight bucks you ever spent. Having made probably half the recipes in it personally, I can safely say that it has changed the way I used my instant pot and made Indian cooking so much more accessible, while not compromising on flavour. - Smoke & Spice by Cheryl and Bill Jamison ($10) Sure Steven Raichlen has written a ton of books about smoking and barbecue, but I don't think any single of them does as good a job as the Jamisons do in S&S. Great for beginners who are just learning and great for more experienced cooks looking to level up. - Essentials of Cooking by James Peterson ($10) Peterson's previous books "Sauces" and "Fish & Shellfish" are definitive professional texts on those subjects. "Essentials of Cooking" is much more user friendly. A clear, step-by-step (usually with accompanying photographs) demonstration of the fundamental techniques of Western cooking, along with recipes to serve as a jumping-off point. It teaches the how and the why to cooking so you have the knowledge to make any dish your own. Another book that has taught me so much. A great reference for when you're stumped. Or take all 3 for $25! All books are definitely not brand new and mind, but they are all in very good used condition, some with hardly a mark on them. Available for pickup near Oakwood and Vaughan.
